I STRONGLY advise getting travel insurance. You've worked hard to have the trip you're planning, please, please put just a little more into the cost by purchasing travel insurance. I've had clients who have thanked me for convincing them to take advantage of this option due to unexpected circumstances.
- Your insurance plan should cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and evacuation expenses.
- We also recommend additional coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, and for personal property
- Travel insurance provided by your credit card typically doesn't cover all of the above
- All travelers are responsible for understanding the details of their travel insurance policy and for confirming that their insurance provides coverage for all activities (included and optional) identified in the trip itinerary and that there are no exclusions clauses that would limit your coverage.
When to Buy:
Purchase your insurance the moment you book your trip, that way post trip circumstances will be covered. Many insurers will only insure your trip within a certain window after your deposit is made.
Where to Buy:
While there are many companies to choose from, some of the insurers we recommend are Allianz and TravelSafe. We are happy to shop, compare prices and policies that would work best and then book the insurance as well.
Added Value:
Simply have a travel agent assisting with your travel plans is added insurance. Giving you a direct line to call if issues arise and help is needed.
