Exchanging Currency from US Dollars to local currency can present some challenges. Here's some beneficial information to ensure you don't find yourself without any local cash!
Money tips learned from my travels
- Make sure your US currency is in new bills, no later than 2013, and crisp, flat, new bills - NO folds, tears, creases, or marks of any kind!
- Be sure and keep cash in a safe place, thieves are professionals at their "job".
- Make sure you notify your bank where you are going. (whether in the country or traveling to foreign lands. If you don't they could put a hold on your account at the most inconvenient time thinking there is a fraudulent charge. Have a point person you can contact if it happens so that it can be taken care of ASAP.
- Be sure you check on the current exchange rate in advance
